Treat Yourself to This Thoughtfully Curated Self Care Subscription Box

If you arrived on this page because you’re searching for a self care subscription, then you’re in for a treat!

In this TheraBox review, I’m going to share my experience with the “Sweet Dreams” box so that you can decide whether it’s a good fit for you.

The last few nights before it arrived, I hadn’t been sleeping very well. At all. To say that I was tired would be a major understatement.

So it was a happy surprise to find out that they had sent me a sleep-themed box to review.

The funny thing? Dan had just arrived home from work and brought the box inside, but I was in the middle of making dinner, so I couldn’t open it right away.

Meanwhile, I was telling him alllll about how tired I was because, well, our crazy toddler had kept waking me up during the night.

Need I say that I was thrilled to check out the eight full size products that night? Well, I’ve been working on sampling each of them, and today I’m sharing my TheraBox review with you.

(Spoiler alert: I’m still tired because, well, I have kids — but I HAVE been sleeping much better lately 🙂 )

Anyway, moving on to my review….

My TheraBox Review

Have you been thinking about ordering a TheraBox subscription, but wondering if it’s worth the $30-something cost per month?

That’s what we’re here to find out. I’m going to go through each of the items inside the box, so you can decide for yourself whether it’s worth signing up.

(Quick side note: due to the fact that this is a monthly subscription, the theme and contents of the box will change every month.)

First things first….

You’ll open up your box to find a magazine with some information on that month’s theme. It also covers everything you need to know about the products inside, including the value of each item.

Then you’ll move on to the goodies… They’re presented so neatly inside the beautiful box, and there are over $120 worth of items including:

  • 1 happiness boosting activity
  • 6-8 full size self care wellness products

Why does self care matter, anyway?

While I’m certainly not claiming that self care is all about bubble baths and facials, these things can do a lot to help lift the spirits — and that, my friend, is huge.

A few more benefits of practicing self care:

  • It plays an important part in stress management.
  • It can help strengthen our mental health.
  • We can better handle challenges that come our way.

Without further delay, let’s review everything that arrived in the “Sweet Dreams” box!

1. Organic Lavender & Mugwort Herbal Eye Pillow (The Happy Shoppe) $25

organic lavender and mugwort eye pillow

Do your eyes feel strained by the end of the day? That’s what this herbal eye pillow is for — the gentle pressure on your eyelids and the calming aroma of lavender and mugwort make falling asleep a breeze.

You’re probably already aware of the benefits of lavender, but did you know that mugwort has been used for centuries by healers to help produce vivid dreams? Or that it can help to clear negative energy?

(Don’t worry, I didn’t either.)

You can use this eye pillow either warm or cold, but I found that it does the job at room temp, too.

I’ve used it a few times already. I found that moving some of the filling away from the middle of the pillow and more toward the ends helped achieve that gentle pressure on my eyelids.

When I did that, it was bliss.

2. “Sleep Tight” Essential Oil Blend (Way of Will) $29

Sleep Tight will help you ease right into a night of peaceful slumber with its sleepytime blend of essential oils. Simply roll a little onto your wrists before bedtime, and find yourself drifting off into dreamland.

A little bit about the essential oil blend: Sandalwood and sweet marjoram work together to combat insomnia, while bergamot, geranium, and neroli address symptoms of depression. Finally, geranium and rose help to alleviate anxiety.

It might sound like there are a LOT of oils in this roller blend, but the results are actually pretty subtle. It’s calming, but not entirely too powerful in the olfactory department.

3. Foaming Face Wash (Grace & Stella) $19

“There’s a foam party on my face and you’re invited.” I love it, such a fun way to present this foaming face wash!

I tried it out both at night and in the morning, and it’s super gentle — not to mention, it’s fragrance-free, which is a huge plus in my book.

It features Rosa Damascena Flower Water, which helps to balance pH while freshening your skin, and Aloe Vera Extract, which fights against inflammation.

Finally, the Hyaluronic Acid defends the skin against pollutants.

You’ll want to use it both first thing in the morning AND just before bed for a clean, soft face all day and night.

4. Night Moisturiser (Organic + Botanic) $19.99

While I’m normally all for unscented skincare products, I have to say that I’m absolutely in LOVE with the way this Madagascan Coconut Rejuvenating Night Moisturiser smells.

I applied it in the evening, after cleansing with the previously mentioned foaming face wash.

The unique blend of 100% vegan and paraben-free botanical extracts and hydrating actives is formulated to seal in moisture and replenish skin overnight.

Seriously, though. It smells amazing! I bet the other two scents are just as good.

(They also offer Amazonian Berry Reviving Night Moisturiser and Mandarin Orange Enhancing Night Moisturiser.)

5. Evening Goggle Eye Mask (Vitamasques) $7.50+

I don’t know about you, but by the end of the day, my eyes are in need of a serious break! Enter the Evening Goggle Eye Mask.

This soothing mask gives off a masquerade party vibe while reducing redness/puffiness and smoothing away fine lines with Copper, Amino Acids, Hyaluronic Acid, and Centella.

After wearing it for 10-15 minutes, I peeled away the mask, massaged in the remaining serum, and went to bed feeling refreshed.

Disclaimer: I’m NOT normally a selfie taking type of person, and I definitely don’t share them when I do, but I figured I’d make an exception this time. So, here you have them… the “during” and “after” mask pics. :o)

6. Broad Spectrum Fizzy Disc Bath Bomb (Clearly Balanced Days) $13.99

What’s better than a warm bath at the end of a long, loooong day?

Not much.

To be honest, in our house, bath time for Mom is an incredibly rare treat. So when it does happen, it’s extra special.

And after using this purple bath bomb, you’re sure to sleep well that night!

Plus, it’s kind of fun watching it fizz away into nothing, while turning the bath water purple.

It gives you a fun, fizzy bath infused with 100mg of broad-spectrum CBD and a therapeutic blend of essential oils: ylang ylang, elemi, chamomile, orange, mandarin, patchouli, and tansy.

The bath bomb is made with only the highest quality ingredients, including ethically sourced mica colors. It contains NO unnecessary additives and no THC.

7. Morning Calm Purifying Hand Spray (Essence One) $12

Toss this travel-friendly spray into your purse for cleaning up hands on-the-go. You can even use it for cleaning hard surfaces (making sure to spot test first, of course).

It’s made with a blend of natural ingredients, including Aloe Vera and a blend of essential oils: spearmint, bergamot mint, and patchouli.

This cleaning spray smells ahh-mazing, and it’s now my new go-to hand sanitizer after grocery shopping or pumping gas!

8. Sweet Dreams Journal (The Happy Shoppe) $18.99

Lastly, but certainly not least, we come to the happiness boosting activity: a Sweet Dreams journal that helps you “track and create regular sleep schedules, relaxing bedtime routines, and sleep-inducing environments so you can clock more zzzs.”

(There’s just something about a fresh journal that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.)

This one guides you through various self care activities that you can incorporate into your bedtime routine for a good night of sleep.

Inside, you’ll find recipes for hot bedtime beverages, a bedtime workout challenge, a guide to restorative yoga positions, and a whole lot more.

    1. I ended up putting the eye pillow in the fridge, then used it a couple nights ago…it felt amazing! I haven’t tried it warm yet, but likely will soon.

  1. I love this! Thanks for the thorough review! This looks like a great self care box. I’m starting to get into self care because I’m normally running myself ragged. This box looks great. I love how you can try things out to find what works for you.

    1. I totally hear ya, I was starting to get SO exhausted, so I’ve been putting a lot more effort into self care lately. It feels so good to make a little time for myself (almost) every day!

  2. I would love the eye pillow because lavender is my favorite relaxing scent. The lavender and vanilla from Bath and Body is a favorite so I would love this and everything else in the box. I think I need to check it out!

  3. I need this box. So hard to find time for a little pampering. Best part I love that they have more natural products, with essential oils. I struggle with most boxes as I have sensitivities to synthetic perfumes. Must add to my list. Would make a great Valentines gift!

    1. I 100% agree with you on the natural products – I would have a hard time promoting something that wasn’t so thoughtfully curated, since I also have sensitivities to artificial fragrances. Yes, it would absolutely make a great Valentine’s gift!!

  4. Ok this is beyond awesome! I’ve never heard of them before but I’ve been listening to a lot of podcasts lately and the one I heard about sleep basically informed me that I’m doing EVERYTHING wrong at bedtime and setting myself up foe poor sleep. I’m definitely interested in this box! I think I’ll be book marking this and purchasing post move (I’m also moving in a month 😝)

    1. Lol! I bet I’m doing everything wrong, too. :/ I can’t be sure whether they have this exact box anymore, but looking at some of the previous months, there’s some really cool stuff every month! I honestly can’t believe how affordable it is for what you get. Anyway, good luck with the move!! I’m super excited for you guys and can’t wait to see the new house.
